Korean Rare Book Collection
The collection includes approximately 250 volumes of Korean Rare Books representing a range of subjects, genres, periods, and printing traditions. The materials reflect diverse forms of Korean print and textual culture, with woodblock-printed books comprising a significant portion of the collection. Many of the materials were published during the Japanese colonial period (1910–1945), providing a view of Korean publishing and print culture during this period. The collection includes literary works and publications related to families and their histories, offering insight into how literary and family traditions were recorded and passed down through books.
The purpose of this digital collection is to showcase and facilitate the comparison of different editions of Korean Rare Books held by Hamilton Library. For each item, the cover and the first page of the main text have been digitized to support the identification and comparison of individual editions.
