Золотeв Слонимского уезда Гродненской губернии. Православный. Холост. Отслужил армию (призыв 1904). В Маньчжурии работал на шахте в Чжалайхаре. Уехал на пароходе «Mongolia» приехал в Гонолулу (1910). Затем съездил на  заработки в Сан-Франциско и Сиэтле (1910 - 15) - работал на лесопилке. Вернувшись в Гонолулу работал чернорабочим на строительстве Young Lord Hotel ($ 1. 75 - 2 - 8 час.).
