Born Aug. 25, 1878.  He was a  peasant-resettler in the village of Vozdvizhenka Nikol'sk-Ussuriisk uezda Primor'ye oblast.  In 1912 on the ship Mongolia he came to Hawaii with his family.  His wife was Irina Naumovna, b. 1880; they had three children.  For eight months he worked on a plantation on the Big Island.  Moved to Honolulu and worked in the port as a dredger/excavator for $3 a day.  Here were born another four children.  In July 9, 1918 the parents left for Seattle.   The boy Ivan (17 yrs.) remained in Hawaii.  Marques notes: \"A man A. Topako [sic], wrote from 82 High Street Marbough (Sheffield) enquiring for his father.  There was a son Aleksei.  Topekha Pavel [Paul], age 41,  son of Mark Topeka [sic], now living at Nikoshresk (?maybe Nikol'sk...hand-writing not clear) near Vladivostok.  He wants to return to his father with his own family, composed of his wife -uran (I?), age 41 and eight children, two of which are over 12 and one of which is only 7 months. В 1912 г.  на пароходе \"Мongolia\" с семьей  отправились на Гавайские о-ва. Проработав 8 месяцев на  плантации на о. Гавайи, переехал  в   Гонолулу, где работал на  землечерпалке ($ 3 - 8 час.). Жена - Ирина Наумовна (Irina)(37 л.), дети: Иван (Ivan)(15 л.), Екатерина (Catherine)(11 л.), Владимир (Vladimir)(9 л.), Алексей (Alexis)(5 л.), Михаил (Michael)(3 г.), Виктор (Victor)(2 г.) и Любовь (Liubow)(9мес.).
