The main text details the life of Keiichi who failed in both love and academic pursuits and decided to migrate to the South Pacific.\nDescription of the kuchi-e: Keiichi writing a manuscript in a deserted island on top right; the woman on bottom left could be either his aunt, Okyō, or one of his cousins, Fujiko or Umeko.
