SCRAP FOR THE SCRAP: One of the dozen 875 pound shells donated by Honolulu Post No. 1, American Legion, is pictured here, as it was hoisted aboard a navy truck bound for the war scrap pile. With the missile are, left to right, Jack Leiton, department and post adjutant; Jorgen Jorgensen, charter member of the post and first vice commander, department of Hawaii; J.L. Padgett, past post commander and department chaplain, and G.R. Proctor, first vice commander of the post.
