Diamond Head mountain forms the background for three women in the foreground sitting in an outrigger canoe riding a wave in. The woman in the front is facing the camera and waving with her right hand while holding on to the side of the canoe with her left. The second woman (with a white swimmer's cap) sitting in the middle of the canoe has a paddle across her lap and is facing the shore. The last woman sitting in the back of the canoe (to the right of the picture) also has a paddle across her lap (in the opposite direction as the person in front of her), but has her head turned to her right looking at the male surfers. Beyond the three women in the canoe are six men standing upright on their surfboards riding the same wave. There are also four other men on their own surfboards in the sitting position or moving to a standing position. 11.5 x 7 cm (4.5 x 2.75 inches) horizontal
