OFF TO DEFENSE WORK: One hundred fifty five young Americans of Japanese ancestry, many of them University of Hawaii students and former members of the Hawaii Territorial guard, are pictured singing the national anthem, climaxing a sendoff program at a university convocation on the campus this morning. The youths will serve as a labor battalion on Oahu, to be known as the Varsity Victory Volunteers.
