About the Collection
For each poster the following information, if known, is given: the Polish title, approximate translation to English; publisher; date; names of artists/text writers; and comments.
The posters were acquired by University of Hawaii French teacher Henri Zygmunt Niedzielski, Associate Professor (1966-72) and Professor (1972-1990). He was born in Troyes, France in 1931, arrived in America in 1956 and was naturalized in 1963. He died in Connecticut in March of 2000. Henri also was a linguistics specialist and teacher of English as a second language. He received several Fulbright lecturer awards for Krakow, Poland (1972-74), Bujumbura, Burundi (1980-81), and Poznan, Poland (1990-92). He was a guest Professor in Avignon, France (1983- 84) and Bonn, Federal Republic Germany (1986- 87). He was a Distinguished fellow at Auckland University in New Zealand (1989). The posters appear to have been acquired during his stay in Krakow.
