Charles Wrightsman was a trustee on the Metropolitan Museum of Art who encouraged this exhibit which took place 1973-1974. It also traveled to the Los Angeles County Musuem of Art. There is a catalog of the exhibit in a special issue of the "Metropolitan Museum of Art Bulletin", 1973-1974 (v. 32, no. 5, 162 p. with illustrations)that is available online.
