The Englishman on the left smoking a pipe is George Barr from Kirkby in Furness, UK. He was working for Vickers Shipbuilding in Tokyo but survived the earthquake and walked the 32 miles back to his hotel where he is now sat in the ruins. He was my great uncle. by Lex Ward
