From back of print: Members of the Women's Army Volunteer Corps as they heard Major General Herbert T. Burgin, commanding general, Central Pacific Base Command, express his appreciation of their services, contributed without compensation, to the Army from 1942 to 1945, at a formation in the Iolani Palace grounds, Honolulu, Hawaii, on 2 July 2 1945. At the head of the formation is Mrs. Marjorie S. Breffeilh, Field Director of the WAVC; to her rear and left is Mrs. Gayle B. Groo, the First Officer of the WAVC, and to the extreme right is Mrs. Kaaha O. Medeiros, the Second Officer of the WAVC.
