From back of print: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. January 6. Down the gangway go the Women Accepted for Voluntary Military Service (WAVES) of the first large contingent to report for duty outside the continental United States. Sailors on duty in Hawaii gather at the foot of the gangway to welcome the WAVES who reported at headquarters of the 14th Naval District today.
