SCHOOLS IN WAR SERVICE. Symbolic of the contribution of public and private schools toward the winning of the war is the scene above at Central Intermediaate school on Emma St. Most of the open spaces at schools throughout the territory fromerly used for play and open air classes have been taken up by air raid shelters to serve the neighborhood as well as school children. Many school rooms have been converted into first aid stations. Rising to this emergency, public and private schools have cooperated with the military government to the fullest extent. Many schools have been taken over almost entirely for military use.
