RECREATION CENTER: Hawaii's world famous Royal Hawaiian hotel, mecca in the past years for famous tourists from all parts of the world, is now a recreation center for the armed forces in Hawaii, having been leased by the navy. The $4,000,000 hotel, erected in 1926, ranks among the world's most colorful pleasure resorts. Pictured here are some of the scenes at the hotel now, with the Peacock lounge filled with pin ball machines and a Negro mess staff in charge of the cuisine. In the picture at left, sailors dance on the terrace with young USO hostesses.
