NEWS FOR SOLDIERS: Inaugurating the project to provide daily newspapers to soldiers stationed at isolated gun emplacements on Oahu, sponsored by the Honolulu Junior Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the USO. Walters K. Fernandez, right, is shown handing to Mrs. J.S. Winchell of the USO the first batch of Star-Bulletins for delivery, as R. Allen Watkins, chairman of the junior chamber's war service committee, left, watches. Mr. Fernandez is in charge of the project for th junior chamber, which is raising funds to buy newspapers for enlisted men. The USO has undertaken to make daily delivery of first editions of the Star-Bulletin to all the isolated spots on Oahu now manned by soldiers.
