SHOE SHINERS BUY BONDS: These grinning shoe shine boys are part of a crowd of 200 who surrounded Police Chief W.A. Gabrielso, right, in the police department annex this week, to show him their war bonds. Afterwards the boys met with Lt. Conrad Barrus, center, and Sergeant David Kaanaana, left, to learn more about the chief's plan to present a $60. wrist watch and a second prize, stil to be selected, to shoe shiners who have bought most war stamps and bonds by August 23.
