Description

REMEMBER BATAAN: Two godchildren in Honolulu of the two highest chief executives of the Phillippines Commonwealth government in exile were among the first to buy each a U.S. war bond on the opening day of the Bataan-Corregidor war bond drive. They are the Gorospe brothers, Constantino Manuel and Cornelio Jr., whose famous godfathers, President Manuel L. Quezon and VIce President Sergio Osmena, respectively, of the Phillippines, are in Washington. They are shown here with George Michopulos, president of Detor Jewelers, Limited, and N.D. Villanueve, who happily sold the bonds which will help redeem and free the Phillippines.
