Looks like Kaumakapili Church after the Chinatown fire of 1900. Note the blackened tree trunk at right and the lack of neighboring construction which all burned down. Weeds suggest photo taken several months after the fire. Bishop's Lane goes from left to right at foreground; front entrance faces the mauka end of Smith St., named after Reverend Smith whose family built the church. by Alvin Yee (alvinwhyee@yahoo.com) at 2010-01-22 16:29:28

Oops! My bad! Bishop's Lane later renamed Kapena Lane actually runs BEHIND Kaumakapili Church. Congregation moved to Palama and a new church bldg. by Alvin Yee (alvinwhyee@yahoo.com) at 2010-02-04 07:58:19
