via email: Here is the 1967 Save Our Surf Logo that John [Kelly] asked me to create. I got a phone call one day and it was him on the line. He knew I was a local Haole that surfed and also did artwork and airbrushing. He described he wanted a "fist" image to show strength and resistance that was a surfing image worked into a wave with a surfer. This is what I came up with. The original was about 9 inches wide. Black ink on white board. It was used on the pineapple cans for donations and as a shirt screen print and in many printed flyers.
