主人公・暁雨は男気のある侠客で、彼の善行を歌った「春雨傘」という唱歌が江戸で流行るほどの人気者。お鶴という遊女が逸見一角（鐵心齋）に両親を暗殺され、暁雨がその敵討ちをする。口絵は手前に尺八を振りあげる暁雨と倒れた鐵心齋、左奥にお鶴。 /
Description of the associated story (see Is Part Of): A story of Gyōu, a chivalrous man of courage (kyōkaku) whose good deeds make him so popular that a song about him, "Harusame-gasa," becomes a hit in Edo. A courtesan named Otsuru has her parents assassinated by Henmi Ikkaku (Tesshinsai), and Gyōu avenges their deaths.
