常願寺の五位様の夫人は、乳兄弟への想いから夫を拒み続けるも最後には発狂し自殺。作中では、好色の王から姫を救う孫悟空の物語が言及され、夫人の態度はまるでこの姫のようだと述べられる。口絵は孫悟空と夫人の姿を描いたもの。 /
Description of the associated story (see Is Part Of): A tragic story of the wife of Goisama of Jōganji Temple. She continuously rejects her husband because of her feeling toward a foster brother, but ultimately losing her mind and commits suicide. The tale of Sun Wukong saving a princess from a lustful king is mentioned and the wife's actions were linkened to the princess.
