My Father Eric Stewart Williams was admitted to the base hospital 30.8.42 with Malaria. He was a Lance bombadeer in the 2/17 LA/ABattery

Could you please advise me if Australian soldiers alos used the kings hollow hospital during the WW11. His records show he was admitted with Malaria on 30/8/42. I know the 2/17LA/ABattery were camped near the americans. Can you shed an y light on the hospital function and who accessed it. I wouild be grateful if someone could respond even with references of what occured befor The Battle Of Milne Bay.

I don't have any specific knowledge on the King's Hospital, but the book "Shadows on the Track: Australia's Medical War in Papua, 1942-1943" does indicate that Australians were also treated at King's Hollow Hospital. My uncle, Richard Hall, was admitted to the kings hollow hospital after receiving a gun shot wound to his thigh on 20th. August 1942. He was with the 39th battalion. He returned to the field about a month later and was killed in action on 14 December 1942 in the battle for Gona Village.
