Description
This photograph did not have an accompanying note. Tagore appears to be holding a piece of paper in his hand, which could be a letter or a note. The location of the photograph is unknown, but it appears to be a residence (most likely Tagore’s). Tagore was the first person to apply the honorific, Mahatma (meaning "great soul"), to Gandhi’s name. [Place is identified as Santiniketan in some photo captions]
