From back of print: Members of the Women's Army Volunteer Corps (WAVC) hold their certificates of service at the formation at which Major General Henry T. Burgin, commanding general, Central Pacific Base Command, inspected and reviewed the organization at Iolani Palace, Honolulu, Hawaii, on 2 July 1945. These women donated their services to assist the Army, driving trucks, working as clerks and typists, in their spare time, as their contribution to the war effort.
