From back of print: To the music of an Army Band the Women's Army Volunteer Corps parades before Major General Henry T. Burgin, commanding general, Central Pacific Base Command, in the Iolani Palace grounds, Honolulu, Hawaii. Ceremony marked termination of three years of volunteer service by women of the community who donated clerical, chauffeuring, and stenographic help to the Army. General Burgin presented records of service to individual members of the Corps and thanked them for their patriotic services, July 2, 1945. The WAVC were released from military control with the regiments of the Territory's Organized Defense Volunteers on 4 July 1945.
