From back of print: Miss Mildred Luke, Honolulu, Hawaii, receives her record of service in the Women's Army Volunteer Corps from Major General Henry T. Burgin, commanding general, Central Pacific Base Command, at a formation of the corps in the Iolani Palace grounds, Honolulu, 2 July 1945. Members of the WAVC contributed chauffeuring and clerical services to the army from 1942 to 1945 as their part in the war effort.
