From back of print: Oahu's Organized Defense Volunteer Regiments present arms while the Army Band plays the National Anthem at ceremonies in Honolulu Stadium, 4 July 1945, marking release of these units from military control. Units formed, left to right: Businessmen's Military Training Corps (BMTC), Hawaii Defense Volunteers, Women's Army Volunteer Corps (WAVC), Hawaiian Air Depot Volunteer Corps (HADVC), 1st Oahu Volunteer Infantry, and 2nd Oahu Volunteer Infantry. Lieutenant General Robert C. Richardson, commanding Army Forces, Middle Pacific, reviewed the ODV regiments after delivering his final address to them as their commanding officer and presented citations to members of the various organizations for meritorious service.
