Description
Zane Grey is best known for his melodramatic novels of the American West, his most popular being Riders of the Purple Sage (1912). An avid fisherman, Grey also had a keen interest in the Pacific and traveled to Australia, New Zealand, and Tahiti. Grey held over ten world records for large game fish and was the first person to catch a fish over 1,000 pounds on rod and reel, a 1,040 pound blue marlin caught in Tahiti in 1930. The photo album and tapa-covered diaries recount his travels in Tahiti and Fiji from December 7, 1928 to December 24, 1930.
