During his years in the CCD, Stanley Kaizawa took up kouta lessons and ended up writing a short song that he named “Gion Kouta,” between 1945 and 1949.

JB: Oh, that’s interesting! SK: Three representing plays for any kabuki-tsu (歌舞伎通)’s authority. These three are Fujiwara jidai, Kamakura, and Edo.
