Kaizawa 3-027: Group photo of Stanley Kaizawa with his grandparents in Hiroshima 広島県, Allied Occupation of Japan, 1947

Kaizawa Interview June 13, 2000:
When I visited my grandparents in the outskirts of Hiroshima, my uncle showed me keloids on his arm from the atomic blast.

Due to proximity of image to photos SKalb3-29-01 & SKalb3-30-01, both of which are found on SKalb3-p.12-one page after this image- where a travel order to Hiroshima is found, we are assuming that the location in this image (SKalb3-27) are the outskirts of Hiroshima. Kaizawa also mentions visiting his grandparents in Hiroshima in "Kaizawa interview June 13, 2000," so we are assuming that the couple displayed in this image are Kaizawa's grandparents.
