Historians such as Chong-sŏ Kim wrote down Koryŏsa in the early Chosŏn era, which consisted of 139 volumes. It was one of the most important materials to figure out the history of Koryŏ. Historians from North Korea translated Koryŏsa to support historical research and wrote down these series.
