Petition [to Board of Regents, University of Hawai'i]

We students, staff and faculty of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, have learned, through published reports, of serious abuses of power on our campus, of sexual harassment of students and of the Maivan Clech Lam case. We therefore ask the Board of Regents to: 1-Create a university office that will act exclusively to advocate the rights of women and minorities. 2-Implement an Affirmative Action plan that will quickly and dramatically increase the recruitment of women and minority faculty. 3-Adopt a policy of extending prompt and fair redress to women and minorities injured by any university process.
